Rover Marine’s Battle Boat as a Yacht Tender: Why the 2026 Cruising Season Is Going Inflatable
Santa Ana, United States – June 2, 2026 / Rover Marine /
The 2026 yacht cruising season is underway, and Rover Marine is shipping its Battle Boat inflatable V-hull dinghy as the stowable alternative to a hard tender for the fleet heading out for summer.
The Battle Boat is a triple-layer 1100D PVC inflatable V-hull dinghy available in three sizes:
- 8-foot, starting at $1,999. Rated for 2 persons (600 pound capacity) and a maximum 6 horsepower outboard.
- 10-foot, starting at $2,250. Rated for 4 persons (1,000 pound capacity) and a maximum 10 horsepower outboard.
- 12-foot, starting at $2,450. Rated for 4 persons (1,200 pound capacity) and a maximum 20 horsepower outboard.
Every Battle Boat is compatible with both gas outboards and electric outboards, including the ePropulsion Spirit 1.0 Plus and the Torqeedo Travel 1103 S short-shaft electric outboards Rover Marine sells alongside its hulls.
Why a Yacht Tender Decision Matters
For coastal cruisers, the tender is one of the most overlooked decisions on the boat. A hard tender takes deck space, davit space, or transom-mount real estate for the entire season, whether it gets used that week or not. An inflatable tender stows when the cruise calls for distance and deploys when the cruise calls for a beach landing, a marina hop, or a quick trip to shore for provisions. The Battle Boat is engineered around the second use case.
Built on Rover Marine’s standard inflatable platform, the Battle Boat features V-TEAK Traction decking over a high-pressure drop-stitch floor. Pontoons inflate to 3.5 PSI; the drop-stitch deck inflates to 10 PSI, producing a rigid floor that supports a fishing rod, a casting stance, or a passenger stepping off onto a dock without the underfoot flex of single-tube inflatables. Tubes are constructed with reinforced seams and a triple-layer, UV-resistant material.
Sizing the Battle Boat to the Yacht
The Battle Boat’s three sizes match three common tender use cases:
- 8-foot Battle Boat. The most common yacht tender size. Fits in a lazarette or under a deck mount. Two-person capacity covers a captain plus a single passenger or a gear run to shore.
- 10-foot Battle Boat. The family-cruise tender. Four-person capacity, 1,000 pound load. Pairs naturally with a 10 horsepower outboard for short coastal runs.
- 12-foot Battle Boat. The expedition tender. Four-person capacity, 1,200 pound load, accepts up to a 20 horsepower outboard. Used as a primary support boat on larger cruising vessels.
Built for the Coastal and Inland Cruising Fleet
Rover Marine ships internationally to seven markets that include the major coastal cruising grounds: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, Mexico, the Bahamas and the British Virgin Islands. Each Battle Boat ships from Rover Marine with a factory warranty against manufacturing defects; specific terms are listed on the product page. Customer service runs Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM Pacific.
