Corbin Capital Partners (“Corbin”), a majority woman-owned independent alternative asset manager with $10 billion of assets under management, today announced the final close of CLF I, L.P. (“CLF I” or “the Fund”), with $342 million in committed capital for the fund and related co-investments.
CLF I focuses mainly on commercial litigation funding, including business disputes, anti-trust, mass torts, bankruptcy-related litigation, and intellectual property. Corbin takes a credit-like approach to litigation finance, targeting later-stage, shorter-duration, and diversified asset pools with additional downside protection.
“The successful close of CLF I reflects investor appetite for uncorrelated, credit-oriented strategies and confidence in our team’s disciplined and diversified approach to litigation finance,” said Cesar Bello, Partner and Director of Litigation Finance at Corbin Capital Partners. “Litigation finance offers an idiosyncratic return profile that we believe is particularly attractive in today’s volatile geopolitical and market environment, where periods of dislocation often drive increased litigation activity and a growing opportunity set. We believe our disciplined, credit-focused approach positions us well to capitalize on these dynamics on behalf of our investors.”
With a deep focus on alignment, structuring, and implementation, CLF I seeks to be a flexible and creative capital provider in all market environments. Additionally, Corbin’s opportunistic, multi-strategy platform and longstanding partner relationships across capital markets provide a strong sourcing channel for the Fund, which has already deployed into 26 investments and is expected to be fully deployed over the next 18–24 months.
Corbin has invested in litigation finance since 2018, leveraging its legal credit expertise alongside Corbin’s broader investment platform.
