New relationship helps AMMP advance membership-based care as a sustainable, relationship-centered model within modern healthcare
NEW ALBANY, OH, UNITED STATES, September 22, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Association of Membership Medicine Professionals (AMMP), a national nonprofit trade association serving the membership medicine field, today announced that The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has joined AMMP as a Founding Institutional Partner, becoming one of a growing number of leading healthcare institutions helping shape the association during its foundational year.
AMMP was established as a “big tent” professional home for stakeholders across the spectrum of membership medicine, including concierge medicine, direct primary care, system-based programs, and emerging middle-ground membership models. Founding Institutional Partners contribute to AMMP’s early work in areas including best practices, benchmarking, research, education, advocacy, and professional development.
The partnership also has a unique connection to AMMP’s origins. James Lawlor, DO, MBA, Founder and Board Chair of AMMP, serves as Medical Director of Executive Health at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The program provides high-touch, longitudinal primary care through a middle-ground membership model known as Semi-Concierge Medicine®. His experience developing and leading this model helped demonstrate how diversification of primary care delivery can support the Quadruple Aim by enhancing the patient experience, improving the provider experience and workforce sustainability, advancing health outcomes, and strengthening financial sustainability.
